Boro Patchwork Basket
Boro. Simple and relaxing hand sewing, creating a sustainable Japanese embroidered ‘patchwork’ into a little basket.
The ribbon ties can be undone, so the basket flattens for space saving storage.
Absolute beginners this is a great project for you as well as experienced sewists. The focus is for relaxation, and this is a super little sustainable make.
Sustainable Sewing :: Scraps Patchwork
Pure wool felt is used as the foundation, and scraps of linen, silk and Liberty tana lawn have been stitched onto the felt. This creates a strong finished piece. Any stitch pattern can be used to create the boro.
